It is now possible to eliminate all clutter from our laptops and desktops thanks to technology. To free up considerable disk space on your Windows, you can choose between software and non-software programs. What is Disk Space?
Disk space is the amount of space on a magnetic disc. This magnetic disk is installed on computers and laptops in the form a hard drive. This utility stores digital content such as documents, programs, and operating system files. Computers and laptops are primarily stored on hard drives.
How do I check if my disk space is full?
To identify performance problems, you may need to periodically check the disk space. Sometimes a computer may act strangely or slow down. These lags can often be accompanied by cryptic error messages. You can find free disk space on your laptop or desktop computer. This is how you do it:
- Open the File Explorer icon
- Choose This PC
- Find the drive that suits you best
- The disk space indicator will appear.
All Settings allows you to view your Windows PC’s disk space. Click on the notification icon at the lower right of the screen to open the All Settings icon. How can I free up disk space on Windows?

This is the simplest and most convenient way to free up space on your computer’s hard drive. Storage Sense automatically deletes temporary files and other unneeded items. Storage Sense will remove any temporary files that are not being used if the system is on its default settings. Recycle Bin will hold the files that were deleted.
Storage Sense works only on the system drive (also known as the C Drive). To automatically free up space on your device, you can set Storage Sense-up. For the correct procedure, go to Settings > System> Storage> Configure StorageSense or Run It Now.
Use Disk Cleanup

- In the taskbar’s search box, type Disk Cleanup
- To delete files, tick the boxes. You can also view each file’s details.
- You can tick several files by default. If you do not wish to have the tick removed, those files can still be saved.
- Click Clean Up System Files to remove extra space
- Next, select OK and then Delete Files
The cleanup will begin. Disk Cleanup will take some time to determine how much space is available on your device. Important: Disk Cleanup might list your previous Windows version as a system files. After you upgrade to Windows 10, this may happen. This happens after you have upgraded to Windows 10. You can delete the file but it won’t let you access the older version of Windows.
